Uses of dinitrogen :

It is used to provide an inert atmosphere in certain metallurgical operations
It is used in manufacturing of various compounds like calcium cyanamide, ammonia, nitric acid etc.
Liquified nitrogen is used as a refrigerant to preserve certain biological specimens, in freezing food stuffs and in cryoscopy.
Dinitrogen gas are filled in thermometers and are used for measuring high temperature.
It is in filled in electric bulbs also.
