Extraction of Metals-Metallurgy :

“The process of extraction of metals from their ores is called metallurgy.” For the extraction of metals, various physical and chemical methods are used. These methods depend upon the nature of ore, properties of materials etc. The extraction of metals involves an individual procedure. The common steps involved in the metallurgy are as follow:

Crushing and grinding of the ore
Concentration of the ore
Reduction of concentrated ore into crude metal
Purification or refining of the metal.
