→ We know that the rate of chemical reaction increases rapidly with the increase in temperature. So, we determine the rate of a reaction at constant temperature. If temperature changes then order of reaction remains same but the value of rate constant changes.

→ It is found that, “rate constant increases approximately twice with the increase in 10°C rise in temperature in a chemical reaction.” So, the ratio of rate constants at the difference of 10 K temperature is called temperature coefficient.
