Aliphatic and Aromatic Amines Preparation and Properties
Amines can be classified as follows:
→ Aliphatic Amines : The amines in which N-atom is directly attached to one or more alkyl groups are called aliphatic amines.
Aromatic Amines : These amines can be classified in two groups as follows :
→ Arylamines : The amines in which N-atom is directly attached to one or more aryl groups are called arylamines.
Example
→ Arylalkyl Amines : The amines in which N-atom is attached directly with alkyl branch of aryl group are called arylalkyl amines.
Example
→ Simple and Mixed Amines : Secondary and tertiary amines can be further classified as simple and mixed amines.
→ If N-atom is attached to two same alkyl groups then is termed as simple amines.
→ If N-atom is attached to two different alkyl groups it is termed as mixed amines.
