Cell Diagram or Representation of Galvanic Cell :
→ As we know that Galvanic cell is made up of two half-cells i.e., oxidation half-cell and reduction half-cell. If metal is represented by M and metal ions are represented by M** then we will write half-cells as follows:
- Oxidation half-cell: M / Mn+(C1)
- Reduction half-cell : Mn+(C2) / M
→ Here C1 and C2 are ionic concentration of oxidation and reduction half-cells. Oxidation half-cell, which is anode, write at left side and reduction half-cell, which is cathode, write at right side.
Salt bridge is represented by two perpendicular parallel lines in between them.
